(Yes, I know today is Thursday. My husband is teaching a class on Monday nights this semester--as a graduate student he doesn't exactly have a lot of leeway when it comes to his schedule--so for now Thursday night is Family Home Evening night at our house.)Tonight we played Scripture Story Scramble. I had the Ant Bug choose 6 or 7 pictures from the kit, then we each took turns choosing a picture to discuss.
Lastly, I have managed to convince the Ant Bug that the music of this musical is fun and worth listening to.
Consequently, we have been talking a lot about the story of Joseph who was sold into Egypt, and she likes to look at these pictures from the kit for a little visual reinforcement.

You're right! The GAK is a great resource. We've mostly used the pictures for Primary talks and FHE lessons. I love the idea of putting them in sheet protectors and a big binder and having ready access to them--I haven't done that but think it's a great idea.
I love accessing the Gospel Art Kit online and using it to make crafts/activities for my toddler. I have used it to make LDS Lacing Cards and puzzles. Oh, I have also used them to make felt board pieces (cut out, laminate, velcro on back). It's been handy.
Thanks for the great post. I need to remember my home kit for quick FHEs. That's a great idea!
We use ours a lot too - primary lessons (when we have been in primary) and FHE mainly. I love the Joseph and the... music. What a fun way to teach that Bible story!
I love the lacing cards idea! I've been looking for something to spice up my Sunday activities bag.
The binder idea is great too. We have a version of that with artwork I have saved from Ensign magazines. I made the decision a few years to only save the General Conference editions of the Ensign, and I've cut out the beautiful art pages from the rest. It's a nice book to look at as a family.
We use our Gospel Art Kit every night for a "Jesus Story" with our little ones. Each night, right before family prayer, we choose a picture, have our daughter look at it, tell us what she sees, and then we tell the story. She now likes to "take a turn" and re-tell the story when we are finished. It is so neat to see her learning about the Savior. It is such a special part of our day!
